Canada Day

Well Canada Day has come and gone for anouther year. Tommorow our neibors south of the border will be celebrating their country's day.

This year was a little different for me than in past years. I spent it downtown Ottawa, which is not unusual, however this year I had the pleasure of a friends friend from Itally. I learned that though the Italians love a good party there isn't any national holiday quite like that which she saw downtown on Friday. With over 60,000 people all enjoying the heat and activities.

So what does this have to do with costumes? Well from the Atlantic to the Pacific ocean Canadians in mass were dressed in red and white, many with maple leafs or the had hats or flags. Then it occured to me that this is most likely the largest cellebration in my own country were we Canadians all wear our national costume. I felt proud to be Canadian and having an oppotunity to share our nations best holiday with a forien visitor who will no doudt remember for the rest of her life.

In short, wear your countries costume with pride and spread the joy of humanity.
