Convention Season

Well costume convetions season is apon us. I just did a quick search on the net for "costume conventions" and had a reply of 240,000 hits. Did a second search on SCA events and had a replay of 775,000. Woooo, so many choices over one million, how does one decide.

Here are some hints, try narrowing your seach down to the type of event (theme) that you would like to attend. For example, as the proprietor of Smocks n Frocks, I have decided to attend two conventions this summer to promot my affiliate costumes. I am a member of the SCA and the locals already know that I am here and there are events that I can attend locally in the winter so I have decided not to do Medieval this summer. I have awsome Belly Dance costumes available however I don't really have the hips for this. Besides, I think I'll leave that to the ladies. My Pirate costumes are great, and I also have a good selection of futuristic costumes such as Star Wars and Star Trek. With the new Star Wars movie having just been released and it being more of an adult target market... this would be the best year to promot this line.... sorry Star Trek fans.

So now I did a search on Star Wars Conventions. This turned up 1,120.000 hits. I thought we were narrowing it down. So I added the word Ontario (buget choices) 282,000 hits. Added Ottawa 2005 and the list is down to about 70,000. Well I will keep working on this but your getting the idea of how to find one to suite your needs.
